Lahori Chicken Dal Recipe | Authentic Pakistani Style Chicken Dal

Ingredients :
3 - 4tbsp Oil
1 Medium Sized Onion
250g Chicken
1tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
1 Tomato
1tsp Salt
1/2tsp Turmeric Powder
1tsp Red Chilli Powder
1tsp Coriander Powder
1 Cup Soaked Chana Dal
1/2 cup Soaked Red Lentils
4 Cups Water
3 Chillies
2tbsp Chopped Coriander
1/2tsp Garam Masala

Tadka:
3tbsp Ghee or Oil
3 Red Chillies (dried)
3 Green Chillies
1/2tsp Red Chilli Powder

Method :
1. Wash and soak the dals for an hour.
2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add sliced onions and cook till light golden brown.
3. Add chicken and ginger garlic paste. Cook till chicken changes color.
4. Add tomato, salt and spices. Mix well.
5. Add soaked dals and water. Mix well.
6. Pressure cook till dals are easy to mash.
7. Open cooker lid and mash the chicken and dal using a masher.
8. Turn on the flame and bring it to a boil.
9. For tadka, heat oil or ghee and add dried chillies, green chillies and red chilli powder. Mix well and add to dal. Mix well.
10. Finally add chopped chillies, coriander and garam masala. Mix well and enjoy.
